Current Legal Problems

Publishing the flagship lectures on behalf of the Faculty of Laws, University College London since 1948

Current Legal Problems (CLP) has been running since 1948 as an annual publication featuring scholarly articles that offer a critical analysis of important current legal issues. It covers all areas of legal scholarship and features a wide range of methodological approaches to law. It is based on the flagship public lecture series of the Faculty of Laws at UCL, established over 75 years ago. These lectures are public, and often chaired by members of the judiciary. You can sign up for the mailing list, and browse the past and future lectures at the UCL Laws website. CLP’s emphasis on contemporary developments means it remains a major point of reference for legal scholarship. Since 2026, Current Legal Problems has been published fully open access by UCL Press.

Lectures are delivered by invitation of the editors and the editorial board.

Below you can find links to the most recent full and partially complete volumes of the yearbook. The latest articles are posted in the latest volume as soon as they become available in HTML and printable format, in advance of them being published as a version of record by UCL Press.

You can follow the articles in the yearbook using our RSS feed or on ActivityPub/Fediverse at @lectures@currentlegalproblems.org, and our lectures on YouTube.
